The Miracle of the Marriage
Amendment Rally
On
Tuesday, May 17th, thousands streamed into Halifax Mall
in Raleigh to show their support for the Marriage Amendment.
People came from the mountains to the coast expressing their
approval for the amendment.
The great miracle of the rally was the
weather. The weather forecast was not friendly during the days
leading up to the rally. The forecast was calling for overcast
skies and rain beginning around 10:00 AM. Many people were
praying for a miracle! Our Return America Board met on Monday
night with Attorney David Gibbs, Jr., and had a season of prayer.
Prayer was offered through the night and early Tuesday morning. A
pastor from Forsyth County called around 7:30 AM informing us that
heavy rain was falling there. Other calls came in testifying that
they were driving through rain on their way to Raleigh. However,
God answered prayer and placed a beautiful dome of blue skies
overhead in Raleigh. We watched as clouds permeated the horizon
only to part and go around that portion of Raleigh. God said a
powerful "AMEN" to the Marriage Rally and showed Himself strong in
many ways.
The music was majestic and the speakers
were superb. The crowd was enthusiastic. There was a comradeship
of unity and purpose. Dr. Gibbs closed out the event in his
powerful way, challenging both the crowd and legislators to move
forward immediately with the Marriage Amendment. The Return
America Marriage Amendment Rally was a phenomenal success to the
Glory of God!
Illustration of Why We Need
the Marriage Amendment
After the Marriage Rally, my wife and I,
our daughter and grandchildren, and some friends from our church
were walking past the Legislature Building going toward the
parking lot. Immediately, a homosexual man accosted our family.
In an angry, loud, yelling voice his first comment was, "You
should be ashamed of sheltering these kids from homosexuality!"
His voice intensified as his language became more abusive. I
stepped between him and my family at which time he began cursing
me and using expletives that reflected his depraved nature. He
was raving and ramping, coming closer, leaving me to believe he
would try to inflict bodily harm. A police officer was nearby and
witnessed the event. The police officer came across the street
only to be verbally abused himself by the homosexual.
The above illustration is a small
sampling of a much larger problem in the homosexual community.
They know no restraints and there is a Biblical reason why: "And
even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God
gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are
not convenient." (Romans 1:28) It was very obvious the
homosexual who confronted us was a very angry man.
The
homosexual community in North Carolina is working overtime to
prevent the Marriage Amendment from being placed on the ballot in
our state. They are afraid the people of North Carolina will join
30 other states and define marriage Biblically. According to their
websites, personal emails, and attacks, they see Return America as
a threat to their movement. Return America has been given a
powerful
voice in our state. Return
America will push
forward bringing people together
to place into our state Constitution the Biblical definition of
marriage, which is the union of one man and one woman.
Thank You
We are so thankful for each of you who
arranged your schedule to come to Raleigh. Words to express our
thankfulness would be hard to find. Please express our
appreciation to each one in your group for their participation in
the rally.

What We Need from You
We are
asking that you organize people in your churches to constantly
call and write the leadership in the legislature. Please ask
them to vote on the Marriage Amendment. We also ask that as
Christians we express Christian courtesy whenever we speak with
our representatives.
Return America
Please
continue to pray for Return America, that its voice will only
intensify and gain the respect of multitudes as we march forward
as a mighty army for the cause of our Dear Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ!
