Return America Marriage Rally Tuesday, May 17, 2011      A Message Every Bible Believer Needs To Hear!    Equality of North Carolina, a homosexual movement, just sent out the follow email.  "Equality NC is making sure that Return America isn't the only voice being heard in this debate.  We're mobilizing fair-minded faith leaders to speak out against the amendment, and we'll be generating hundreds of calls to legislators from every corner of the state."  They say they seek to raise $10,000.00 by midnight on May 17—our rally day—to trumpet their cause.       They Have Spoken, Now Will You Speak With Your Presence?

In just a few days, multitudes will convene on Halifax Mall behind the Legislative Building in Raleigh to show their support for a Marriage Amendment.  North Carolina is the only state south of Washington and east of New Mexico without a marriage amendment attached to our state constitution.  North Carolina is positioned in a very dangerous situation for the following reasons:

• Our current statutory law protecting traditional marriage could be overturned by a judge in sympathy with homosexuals.
   
• Obama has stopped the Justice Department from defending the Defense of Marriage Act.
   
• In states where same-sex marriage is now permitted, the judiciary took into account laws and programs similar to those already passed and adhered to in North Carolina.

It is of the utmost importance that those who believe in Biblical marriage arrange their schedules to stand up for this God-ordained institution of marriage.

Legislative Support

For the first time in eight years, we have been given the assurance from our legislative leadership that the Marriage Amendment will go forward for a floor vote in our Legislature.  With so much opposition on the forefront, it is vitally important that we rally behind our friends in the Legislature and lend our support to them. Those who oppose Biblical marriage are very active and stand united against God’s program for marriage.  If passed, the Amendment would then go to the people of North Carolina for a final vote.  Hopefully it would be on the ballot in November 2012.  Polls in North Carolina show that the majority of the people of this state would support a Marriage Amendment if given the opportunity to vote for it.

You may go to the Return America Web site at www.returnamerica.org and download a flyer for the Return America Marriage Rally.  There will also be information posted on our site about bus and car parking.  Bus parking will be available again this year at Beacon Baptist Church in Raleigh.  Bus drivers may drop off their passengers in front of the Legislative Building and drive their buses to Beacon Baptist Church.  The drivers will then be shuttled back to the rally.  After the rally, the drivers will be shuttled back to Beacon Baptist Church to pick up their vehicles.

 

More Information about the Return America Marriage Rally

We are asking each participant attending the rally to contact your representative and invite them to attend.   If you do not know who represents you, please go to http://www.ncga.state.nc.us .  In the top right-hand corner you will find a box entitled "Who represents me?"  When you click on that box you will have the options of selecting your representative by district, county, or zip code.  We are also asking each participant to visit your legislator’s office after the rally and encourage them to support the Marriage Amendment.  This is vitally important!  We also need for you to spread the news about the Marriage Rally by mailing list, phone calls, emails, or announcements wherever possible.   If you could send public announcements to your local radio or TV stations, it would also be helpful.  If some churches could purchase an ad in their local newspaper, it would be a great help as well.
 

Who We Are

It is vitally important that we remember who we are.  As Christians we are a changed people!  We are ambassadors from Heaven representing the interests of our Lord on planet earth.  Our Saviour has stated that his followers are called "salt."  Salt can adorn our tables in beautiful containers, but it does not become effective until it touches the product.   Five states and the District of Columbia now approve same-sex marriage.  The salt lost its savor!  The salt did not touch its product! The headlines in North Carolina could read: "First gay couple married in North Carolina."  If that should happen, many people in our state would be highly upset and complain about how such a depraved action could happen in our beloved state.  Salt prevents corruption!  Corruption if left unchecked can cause serious consequences.  The breakdown of the Biblical planned family can cause serious consequences, not only in the present generation but in generations to come.  Salt needs to be activated!  We now have a prime opportunity to defend what we say we believe.  In every state where same-sex marriage has been approved, the will of the people was not heard.  When the people speak, same-sex marriage fails every time.  The will of the people should be heard in Raleigh on May 17.  It is our honor—and yet our responsibility—to stand up for Biblical marriage.  Those who oppose us are united and active.  They write the letters, court the friendship of legislators, and trumpet their depraved cause continually.  In many instances they have carried the day simply because many of those who could make a change have kept the truth on ice. 

Our Time Has Come
 

For the first time since in eight years our prime time has come to stand up and be counted.  We are depending on everyone who reads these lines to not only be present but influence as many people as possible to attend the Return America Marriage Amendment Rally.  Those who are against the truth of Biblical marriage are organized and ready to stand up for their depraved belief system.  Their recent email has stated that their cause is: "demonstrating again and again that we love our partners, our spouses, our children, and our families just like everyone else, and we simply will not stand to be demonized."

We are depending on you to see the seriousness of this rally and arrange or rearrange your schedule to accommodate the truth of God’s Word pertaining to Biblical marriage. 

Remember, we will be meeting at Halifax Mall, located just behind the Legislative Building in Raleigh, on May 17, 2011, at 10:30 AM.  Dr. David Gibbs, Jr., will be our special speaker, along with other special guests.  The Reggie Saddler Family will be providing some special patriotic music around 10:15 AM.  We will have further information posted on our web site at www.returnamerica.org.  We look forward to meeting you there!
